Thank you gifts

Post by janmoore »

I mentioned in the chat thread I managed to embroider a few things. I wanted to thank friends for various kind acts.

You may remember months ago I started a thank you gift for some realtor friends. They helped gather info and comps on neighboring homes, as part of our wall situation. I got off track with Tom's diagnosis. I started the cloth dinner napkins when paper products were difficult to find. Hopefully, they will still use them. The fabric was in my stash for years. It was made by Moda, but is not their normal quilting cotton. It is heavier, and has a linen like weave. I flipped a corner, so the weave is more visible. I made 1" mitered hems. I really wanted to monogram them, but the couple uses different last names and I am too tired to think through that!

I also made the linen cocktail napkins for them. I cut 12" x 6" pieces. Fringed the edges, zig sagged them to prevent future fraying, embroidered, and folded in half. Their home has a nautical theme, and they live on another part of the same lake we do.

Some friends fear I am not eating, since Tom is unable to eat much, and have dropped off food. I embroidered kitchen towels, and included them when I returned dishes. The towels are either a small gingham or white pique weave. I purchased the towels.

I made more linen cocktail napkins for a friend who dropped off several " mini meals" for me. She has been having small gatherings on her porch, for drinks and snacks.
