Some-one asked for my sausage roll recipe!!! Here goes!!!!!
We use 24 sausages or equivalent weight in sausage mince.... usually about 1 kg.
finally diced onion.
salt, pepper and any other spices you like to use... we often use curry powder as well, mixed herbs.
fruit chutney or home made chutney... about 2 table spoons
cheaters pastry... I use sheets of puff pastry. cut the sheets in halves.
mix all ingredients and allow to sit for hour or two for flavour infusion.
spoon small amounts of sausage mixture along centre of pastry sheet, brush the outside edges with beaten egg and roll together.
I either cut my length of sausage roll into 1/4 or 1/3. place on baking tray and brush tops with beaten egg.
They cook at about 200'C for 25 mins. I usually change the trays around half way through baking.
They store well in deep freeze.... don't know the life of them as they are usually eaten quickly... especially when the munchkins are here.
