My Napa Valley Santa

Post by KarenVA »

I made him from scratch a few years ago--but had to re-do his hair in 2019. It's made from Tibetan Lambs wool from a farm in Montana--good thing I had some leftover!

Breath taking. It also made me cry as my sister used to make the most beautiful Father Christmas and this just brings all those memories back.

Thank you so very much for sharing him.

The detention to detail is amazing. The stars on his gown, is that fabric or did you add stars? Is it braided trim you have sewn on that frame the hrewls? How did you attach the jewels?

Thanks!! This was my first porcelain doll from scratch! I really loved the whole process--and then the store with the kiln and accessories closed!! I almost cried!!

Nonie--the stars were already on his gown. But, I sewed on all of the fur trim, ribbon, cording and gold seed beads. The big jewels are glued on with E6000. I liked the idea of a Napa Santa because we used to live in California near the vineyards in Napa.
