My new sewing rooms!!!

Postby KarenVA » August 5th, 2015, 7:11 am

We spent the past few weeks organizing and taking stuff to recycling, thrift store, and the dump!!! I have muscles I never knew I had--because they hurt!!! LOL But, now I have TWO sewing rooms connected by a Jack and Jill bathroom!! It feels kind of decadent, but sooooo wonderful!! The purple room (with glow in the dark stars on the ceiling!!) is our DD's bedroom and the other room used to be an office. We can still put up aero beds when we have visitors, but the space is more useful all the time now.

This room has my sewing machines and serger--the ghosts under the covers (I need to make pretty covers)!! I almost forgot to mention the best part!! My sweetheart DH built a cover for an LED shop light (from Costco) to hang on the back wall--it gives much needed light!! I'm thinking of making a ruffle cover to Velcro to the front.

Your sewing rooms look wonderful. I laughed when I read that you have glow in the dark stars on the ceiling because my sewing room has them too from my daughter, my grandkids love it when they visit.

Thanks, Ladies!! My sweetheart DH took pictures so we can prove that the rooms can be neat!!! LOL Once I start sewing, all bets are off and I work in organized chaos!!! :rotflo:

I used to sew on the kitchen table and the cutting table was smooshed into our master bedroom closet (under my hanging clothes!!)!! As the kids left home, we sort of took over their rooms. They had twin beds, but now that they are married--who wants to come home for a visit and sleep on a twin bed??? So, we donated their beds and got two queen-sized aero beds to use when they visit. (And, RosieQ, I couldn't fit 4 pics on one post--so you can see the ghost sewing machines in the other post. I really do need to make some pretty covers for them--Bernina 730, 830 and a serger).

I can hardly wait to sew today!!!
