Slipcovered Parsons Chair

This baby nearly kicked my rear. (I have no idea why the pic is sideways - I've rotated and rotated, and it refuses to sit straight :ranting: )

I still struggle with making the turn where the seat joins the back. I clipped too far into this one and had to pull it tighter than I wanted. It also has a rolled back, so that was a challenge too. I tried first to make an inverted pleat in the back and ties to cinch it in at the lower half. But I barely had enough fabric to do it this way. When I snapped the picture, I saw one glaring boo boo that I hope will go unnoticed. I worked on this one so long that I'm letting it go as is. I remember a time when that would never happen! :rotflo:

I had planned to hem to sides of the skirts, but I decided I liked the serged edge more. It will go with my friend, Angie's, funky vibe in her hair salon. I have one more to do, and that is another Christmas present finished.

I don't think I'd ever tackle a slip cover like that! You did a great job and this will make a wonderful Christmas gift!

Wow, that is really good.

I think just letting things go is a good thing once and a while. Most people wouldn't see half the things we notice and rip out and redo.

I am working on not fussing so much, especially on the inside of things.

Good job.

Thank you all for the sweet comments. I get better as I do these more and more. But I still prefer pin fitting to taking measurements and "winging" it. :rotflo:
