Burlap and more Burlap

Postby angelalee511 » March 26th, 2014, 8:54 am

These are the some of the pillows I made for a friend.

This is the best invisible zipper I've ever done. This is actually a linen burlap, so it was much easier to work with. I used wonder tape on the zip to keep it all lined up. And I used this method of installing it even though she is doing it with welting. https://www.youtube.com/watch/?v=Qulwhv6jqzI

This is a floppy, flanged pillow she wanted. I don't like loose and floppy, but that's what she wanted.

And just a square pillow. She didn't have enough fabric for a flange. I actually had cut this pillow once to eliminate the dog ears, but it didn't work on this fabric with a feather pillow. The feathers just don't pouf out the corners well enough. So I went back and did the made the same adjustment again. Again, she likes a looser fit than I do. This is the same pillow with the invisible zip.

I had another one but had no pillow insert to get the pic. But trust me they are all finished! :rotflo:

Fabulous job on the zip!

I think the texture of the linen burlap really lends itself to the floppy or casual look. I like them, and I normally lean toward the more traditional formal look.
