18" doll sweater pattern

Postby Luzenia » April 4th, 2017, 11:59 am

I recently tested a knitting pattern for Genine for 18" dolls. This is a tunic but I don't have any pants for my 18" doll. With her tights it looks like a mini dress. I tried to add a picture but the file is to big and I have no idea how to make it smaller.

Thank you Nonie for re-sizing and posting the picture for me. The pattern is Genine's Yolande' lacy tunic and hat pattern for 18" dolls. The pattern is for US size 1 or 2 yarn using a US size 2 needle. The pattern is very well written and easy to follow but I did frog stitch the lacy leaf center front section a couple of times because my supervisor (Jamie) would get tangled up in the skein of yarn and pull stitches off the needles when I would be reading the pattern or making notes. All of the garment measurements were exactly what Genine had listed on the pattern and the sweater fits very well through the neck, shoulders, sleeves and chest. I think my 18" Espari doll is slimmer through the waist and hips because the tunic looks like a mini dress but it is the exact finished length that Genine specified. I used Loops and Threads similane (available at Michaels) an acrylic, nylon blend sock yarn for ease of care because I knew that DD#1 would not block after washing if DGD got it dirty while playing with her AG doll. I had to go up to a size 3 needle to get the correct gauge because of how tightly I knit. I enjoyed knitting this sweater and highly recommend this pattern. Thank you Genine for allowing me to test this pattern.
