Easter Dress--butterick 6168

Postby nana judy » April 16th, 2017, 5:43 am

I don't like it as well as I hoped I would but it will be ok. the sleeves are a tad snug and I may take the sleeves out and make it sleeveless. The front is too open and I had to hand stitch it together to keep it together. I don't think it will look puckered when I have it on.

Judy, I have noticed that the sleeves are cut far too small for Ava. I was thinking I need to post on this form and see what I might do that would be correct. Amazing when I did twice the clipping and more trimming that helped the armscye...but still just a tad bit too little in the width. I am nervous about that much clipping...but the sleeves are lined so hopefully that will keep the sleeve in.

But, your dress is very pretty. I love the blue and you are cute with the twirl factor! Good job!

Judy, I find that most surplice necklines are too low for my taste. I don't know a way of correcting it other than the way you did. The dress looks wonderful on you. I'll bet you will find that it grows on you as the spring and summer go by. It looks so pretty on you!
