Cranberry, orange sauce

Postby nonie » November 10th, 2017, 3:08 pm

1. One 12oz pkg. cranberries
2. 1/4 cup, freshly squeezed orange juice
3. 1/2 cup sugar
4. 3/4cup water

In a medium saucepan, combine orange juice, orange zest, sugar and water over medium heat. Cook stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolved. Stir in cranberries and bring to a boil.reduce heat and let simmer until sauce has thickened, about 15 minutes. Sauce will thicken as it cools.

Now, if you want to cut down the amount of sugar, that would be fine.
This my favorite, I freeze any left over, when there is left overs.

Nonie, I have always wondered if freezing afterwards will work. I tend to think the whole family loves the cranberry salad, and the whole county might drop by as well. My boys and I eat the cranberry salad, everyone else prefers the canned jell. So, I always have lots left over. LOTS. I will sometimes find it moldy...you can imagine how long it sat in the fridge! :rotflo:

Now, I know. Thanks!!
Linda
