More Ice Cream

Here is the recipe I use for vanilla. It is so easy and the way my grandmother always made for the old hand cranker.

I can condensed milk
I can evaporated milk
2 cups half and half
2 tsp. vanilla.

Just mix up well. Chill overnight in the fridge. The next day put in your ice cream maker. This amount fills my cuisnart up just right.

I made the "batter" last night and came home and made the ice cream the minute I got home. It went right in the freezer. Then I took a big bowl of peaches that HAD to be eaten today and sliced them up with Splenda and a shot of Peach Schnappes. I let them sit. For dessert I put a pile of the peaches in a bowl and topped with the ice cream. Can we say fabulous?

I find homeade ice cream is so much tastier and richer that you can eat very little and be very satisfied. Its just not like anything in the store. I think my next "creams" will be sorbets. They are so easy to make as well.
