Have company dropping in and need something quick, then this is for you. I like it warm with whipped cream

1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1(20-oz) can crushed pinapple in syrup undrained
1 (21-oz) can cherry pie filling
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. butter, cut in thin slices

Preheat oven to 350-Grease 13x9-inch pan. Dump undrained pineapple into pan; spread evenly. Dump pie filling and spread into even layer. Dump dry cake mix onto cherry layer; spread evenly. sprinkle nuts over cake mix. Put butter on top. Bake at 350 for 48-53 minutes. Serve warm or cold.

Dump cake

I tried this years ago when we were in Saudi and I needed a quick desert one evening. Everyone loved it but I haven't made it since. Thanks for bringing it to mind again.

Just dump the cake mix with no mixing required????????

If so, I am all about this!

Can I use other canned fruit such as cherries and blue-berries?

Just dump and spread, no mixing. For cherries I think I would stick with the cherry pie filling, and add some canned blueberries with juice. I think you need the moisture.

We were shopping at Wmart a few days ago and in the "as seen on TV" section, they had a dump cake recipe book. DH thought he might need that. Jolly man, Santa won't let him peek though.
