Prayer Quilts

Postby jsm » September 20th, 2016, 2:08 pm

As mentioned in another thread, I am not a quilter. But, I can cut strips and stitch them together! :)

Earlier in the summer when my hand was broken, it was difficult to sew my favorite little garments. I was able to use a rotary cutter, and the cast was a great weight for holding fabric! :)

Since I couldn't knit, I decided to use stash and make lap quilts for our church prayer shawl ministry. The floral quilt used a fat quarter stack I received as a promotional gift, when I owned my store. The blue and black is from stash, and hopefully appropriate for men. It is a free pattern online. I quilted both on my Pfaff. The integrated dual feed helps so much.

I am not much of a quilt photographer, either!

What beautiful quilts to make for your church group. I am sure that who-ever wraps themselves in either of the quilts will not only know that you lovingly sewed them but that the love of our LORD will help them too.

Those are wonderful, Jan! I haven't been able to help my friend at the Methodist church in a couple of months. Hopefully, after Christmas. These do make wonderful gifts.

Beautiful quilts! I'm so glad that you were able to do some sewing while you couldn't make tiny outfits! I know they will be appreciated.
