Printed Corduroy

Postby rougealar » September 20th, 2007, 11:38 am

I bought some corduroy with a print on it today and I would like to pre-shrink it. It's 100% cotton but the bolt end said to hang it to dry. Should I wash with warm water and dry it on warm? I don't want to ruin it, but I don't want it to shrink either.

Diane, how are you going to treat the garment once it is made? will you always hang it to dry? treat your fabric the same way, if its going to shrink now would be the time to shrink it. since I sew mainly for the kids, the clothes have to stand up to the washer and dryer.

I was just afraid that the print pattern might be affected by it since I never saw any before that said it had to drip dry. Since it's for me, and it is 100% cotton I'm all for pre-shrinking :) Into the washer it goes!
