Ugly fabric

Postby nonie » March 20th, 2006, 4:52 pm

Yes,we all seem to end up having ugly fabric in our stash. I found a few things that we can use it for, besides washing the car.

Try overdying it sometime you can change the shade of the fabric

Use it for bias strips

Use it for lining, when the lining fabric doesn't matter

any more ideas?

Sometimes the wrong side is prettier because the colors are softer. I've also seen some super ugly (or really weird) fabric used in "stack and whack" quilts that turn out really pretty.

Depending on how bad it is I use it for cat beds. I make a pillow case and fill it with ceder then sew it up with a good heavy stitch. I also let my dds use it for cutting. I have found that if they cut when I am I get less questions and offers to help. I have also used it for making My Little Pony blankets. They are about 5X5 so I can get several! Kyndyl always wants all of her animals covered with blankets at their nap time.
