Maja's Heirlooms "Hudson"

Postby HoltsSadie » July 25th, 2008, 7:41 pm

I just finished this pattern in a size 2, short pant length.
I love the design and the styling of this pattern, as I do all of her patterns.
However the pattern instructions were hard to follow.
The pattern does not tell you what the seam allowance is, I used 1/2". I lengthened it an extra 1" in the stride area, as my grandson is long.
The pattern also does not mention finishing the seams, so be sure and do that as you go along.
The part that gave me such a fit, was the front flap that buttons onto the tabs. The sketch on the pattern front does not illustrate a seam down the middle of this flap. To understand what I was doing and how this would come together, I sewed that seam up first, before attaching each piece to the side piece. Once I did that, it became clear.
The finished garment is adorable.

So glad it came together for you. And thanks for the instruction info. Know someone here will be needing it.
We NEED to see Holt in it. I sure miss his pictures on the board. Been a long time since I've seen your little love buddy. Karen
