I was able long ago to post pics but now I cannot. I would love to share some of my latest projects but don't know how to do it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Susan VH

Susan, are you working from an IPhone or iPad? I only use my iPad, and since Nonie had the update on the forum website I have not been able to get on with either my phone or iPad. I have not updated my devices....I have heard horror stories on the latest edition. My computer is so old and slow, that it takes forever for it to start up, so I just don't do pictures. I have no problem moving pics to Facebook or email. I let Nonie know about this situation. Yes, we could post to FB, but that seems to have grown to an overloaded vehicle that I doubt that I see much from my real friends, and doubt they see much of mine. I know there are comments on the forum about something someone has posted on FB and I had not seen the original convo.

I hope someone can resolve this for you. When my computer worked well, Jerry had me go to Microsoft Pictures and could adjust the size of my picture. This worked very well.

Yes, I tried several picture editing venues, and none work for me to get to the forum.

I can add right from my computer. When I do a post and want to add something. at the bottom of my page it say's upload attachment. click on that and it say's brows so you can go through the files on your computers. I have several places I keep pictures.
Now, with camera A, I can resize the photo before I add to my gallery. With the other camera I can't do that, so I use picmonkey a free photo company to reisize my photos. 640x580 is a good size.
Once you pick your picture click on it, it will say 'add attachment' then place in line, there you go a picture.

I upload my pictures from my computer to Flickr. Then I use the [Img] button to insert the Flickr photo. If you're interested in this method and need it, I can give you a more detailed step-by-step.

Jenny Jo, I would enjoy more detailed info and try on my iPad. I tried with Flicker, but felt I was missing a step.

Or, does anyone know how to bring to this page from Facebook. I read someone does this.....

There must be a way from iPad, there used to be...and, I really cannot see or justify spending money on a new computer to post pictures here. Perhaps, Apple had done something at the same time as the changes to this web page, I know Imsure don't worry about gremlins coming in. I have enough hackers with the banks and credit card companies....

Nonie, what is the gallery you spoke of...is it here On this website or elsewhere. You put it into the gallery, then go to the place here when we are writing to add, etc.

Hit the tab below that says upload attachment. Then hit choose file. Then click photo library to upload pics from iPhone or iPad. Click add file. You may have to go into that picture first and change the size

Hope this helps.

The only problem I usually have is with size. FB, email and other sites often resize the photos for you. Most of my photos straight from the camera, phone or tablet are too large to post here. I have tried the smallest size on my phone, when I take the photo, and it still doesn't work! I use a photo editing app to resize, before posting.

The way I do it via Flickr gives a variety of options for controlling size.

1. First I upload my picture to Flickr.
    A. I log in to my Flickr account
    B. Then I click on the cloud with the arrow in it to initiate the upload.
    C. I click “Choose Photos and Videos to Upload” and browse my computer (or the library/photostream on my iPad) for the picture I want. Then I click Open.
    D. At this point, I make any changes to the title/description/whatnot and then click the blue Upload Photo button.

2. Then I copy the address/link to the photo I want
    A. In Flickr, I click on the photo so that it’s the one I’m specifically viewing
    B. To the right of the photo, there are four little icons: a mountain, a box with a pencil, a right-pointing arrow, and a down-pointing arrow. Click on the right-pointing arrow to bring up the “Share Photo” dialog box.
    C. In this box there are four headers: Share, Embed, Email, and BBCode. Select BBCode.
    D. This is where I select what size picture I want. I usually pick one of the “medium” options.
    E. Copy the entire line of code that appears in the box above the size box. (To do this on a computer, highlight and right-click and select Copy; to do this on an iPad, press your finger and hold, widen the copy box to include the whole line, and select Copy)

3. Then I paste the link into a post at Everything Sewing
    A. Log in to ES and start a post or reply
    B. Just above the white window where I type my post, there is a line of grey buttons starting with bold, italic, and underline. Click on the one that says “Img” to insert opening and closing image tags in the typing window. Looks like this (except with the square kind of brackets):
    {img}{/img}
    C. Put the cursor between the two tags and paste the line of code from Flickr. Here is an example:
    {img}{url=https://flic.kr/p/NEU3qK}{img}https://c4.staticflickr.com/6/5609/30632592163_ca32c7e332_z.jpg{/img}{/url}{url=https://flic.kr/p/NEU3qK}UNL Notebook Cover{/url} by {url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/37795954@N03/}Jenny Jo{/url}, on Flickr{/img}
    D. Now, a large chunk of this code has to be deleted for things to work. Look at it carefully. The only part I want to keep is the link to the jpeg file. It is the section I've colored green that begins with https: and ends with .jpg. Delete everything before and after that, including several image and other tags that Flickr stuck in there. But don’t delete the outermost image tags that Everything Sewing provided. (Again, I had to use squiggly brackets in this example so that you could read this code. In reality, all the squiggly brackets will be square ones.)

4. Then I preview my post to see if I like the picture size. If I don't, I go back to step 2D, pick a different size, and continue from there.

I tried this method on my iPad, and I think it works the same. Let me know if I was unclear with anything.

Oh - I should also add that you can mark your photo "private" on Flickr so that no one browsing Flickr can see it. And if you copy the BBCode and paste the link here at ES after you've marked it private, it will still be visible here just fine.

Thank you so much, Jenny Jo. I had tried with Flicker very much on my own and probably missed steps. So I will print off the directions you have given and try from there. Too bad I just can't start from your step 3 like we did before the web pages.

One of the Designers updated her web site, and Apple acts strange with hers too. I have to really like her things to buy them! With hers, I cannot even move into Dropbox and always could with her things before. She is such a fine designer, I hate to not use her. Terri had all sorts of grief with us Apple users...but, when we found out the problem we know what to do....go to the blasted computer. I kid you not, I use mine for church minutes and my farm business account and when I am embroidering....not often these days!!

There is an app called image resizer (free app) that you can open your photos in, resize them, save them then upload as usual.

I just used it to upload this recent photo. Very easy.

I think I have used that one, Angela. The one I use most often is PicsArt. It also allows me to add a watermark, text, and edit photos easily.
