Hate bothering you ladies but

Postby minnie63 » April 9th, 2016, 7:57 pm

I am having a problem with my pleater/gatherer foot. I had a Janome that worked perfectly but gave the machine to a sis in law.. Got a new foot for the Innovis but can't get it to do pleats, only gathers. Any ideas? I know I've given away so many machines that sometimes I wish I'd have kept. Do ya'll do that? I guess I'm addicted to sharing, :sewing: Thanks for any help.

does it have the little knife blade that pushes the pleats under the foot part? If so, you might need to adjust the little screw that controls the depth of the pleat.

There are usually 2 different feet - a gathering foot, which only gathers fabric, and then a ruffler foot, which puts little pleats in the fabric. The ruffler foot has a way to adjust the stitch length as well as the amount of "push" that pushes the fabric pleat underneath the foot. This is a fabulous tutorial on the ruffler foot.

I have a gathering foot as well, but don't use it, so I have no advice with that foot. :) Hope you get it sorted out.
