Whoops - mine are on a different thread, but I'll put them here as well.

I had some ugly red print fabric that matched my ugly peace fabric. :rotflo: It's kind of a brick red. It took forever to iron on the interfacing - it just didn't want to "stick" well. I had to do some research on the fabric and found that this company makes fabric for outdoor furniture. I nixed the idea of using it for my new porch though!!!   I was glad to test out the pattern/tutorial as I will definitely make changes the next time I make one. I'd use an interfacing (not has heavy) on the lining as well and I'd line the pockets. Of course, I did use my iron all along and not only at the end as the tutorial instructs.

I didn't make the adjustable straps because I didn't have the hardware and I knew if I went out to buy it, the bag wouldn't get finished last night. I don't know when else I' would have been able to work on it since I am busy for the next couple weeks. :)

Can't wait to see what everyone else will be doing.......

Thanks for the challenge Nonie!

Ooh, Kathy, deck chair fabric, you really missed the boat not making pillows for your new enclosed prch! :rotflo: :rotflo: :rotflo:

Good job getting your challenge out of the way. I like the shoulder pad thingy on the straps. Will you wear this to class today? :D What a great bag for a crowded room. You would always find it.

All teasing aside, I think your work looks marvelous, and to add that classy little flower just was the right touch. How do you do that, always managing to have just the right touch. And, it works for a practice bag, that is for sure.

Cannot wait to get my fabric....I've not even a hint on it...I should never have told Robin I like surprises....drat

Oh my gosh Kathy!!!!! :rotflo: :rotflo: How flippin' big is your sewing room?? You always have "something" to use on some project. :rotflo: :rotflo: I agree the fabric doesn't look as ugly on the bag, and the little flower is just the right touch!

I can't wait to see the rest. Come on girls, Kathy has indeed set the bar.

Kudos to Kathy!!! What size is the bag? I looked at the tutorial, and your bag really outshines the pics for the tute. Of course, if you misplace it somewhere on-the-move, it would be easy to spot! :rotflo: :rotflo: :rotflo:
All kidding aside, I do like it and would use it. I know that any of my "girls" (daughter & Grdaughters) would love to have it. GIves me an idea for a Christmas gift or two...but not necessarily the same material. However, similar print would be a hit with Angelica, for sure!

My fabric finally talked to me. So need to find some trims (may require a purchase) and I should be good to go. Am away for the next several days with hubby so won't be working on it. Not telling what I am doing - surprise is the name of this game!

OK, so here's the fabric photo's from the ugly fabric Kathy sent me. I made a tunic from Simplicity pattern #1716, view B. This fabric just doesn't photo well. Neither mine or Kathy's do it justice. I had enough fabric left to make a pair of leggings. So did that too.

Oh my goodness Karen, that is one classic set, I love it. Do you have a pencil black skirt to wear with it OR maybe special shoes? I would like to see those too, especially if you would model it all, pictures of it modeled please?

I am still just looking at my ugly draped over a kitchen chair so I can see it most of the day..........still nothing special, drat!

Sorry ladies, I did try to get photo's of it modeled. Had my good black slacks with the tunic, and then had a jacket over the leggings. The pictures just wouldn't turn out. So I deleted them, they were THAT bad.
