My first wadder

Let's chat about everything sewing.

My first wadder

Postby nonie » August 3rd, 2017, 1:20 pm

I have always been able to solve a sewing problem. NOT THIS TIME!! I have done what I have never done in the many, many years I have been sewing-- I put the 'stuff' in the trash!! :ranting: :ranting: No matter how hard I fought, it was not going to make a decent dress. It even started snagging and creating little runs :( It also robbed me of my enjoyment of sewing, it was always there wanting to be dealt with. So tomorrow, I will start fresh.

Oh dear. Well, I can sympathize - I've done that at least once, if not twice in my sewing career. It stinks to have to give in to the failure, but in the end, it's best to move on. Tomorrow you can work on something that will make you happy!!! :cheer:

Tomorrows a new day. Take a deep breath and start on something else then go back to trying again!
I wish I was closer that I could go try to help you.

Been there too once. And I doubt it will be the last. Move on to something else that brings you joy.

Your first?? You are my hero, then! :)
I lost count on mine! I do sometimes try to salvage some part of it for a future project, unless it was the fabric causing problems. Sounds like that could have been part of your problem. It happens to all of us, and sewing is meant to be fun!

Hope today goes better in the sewing room!

Ditto!! I think it's happened to me once or twice, and I blamed it on the fabric (it couldn't possibly have been me  !!). Likewise, tomorrow is a new day...

Vanessa, I am going to take this fabric to our meeting and see if anyone wants to deal with it. Will be sure to share if anyone takes it on.
