Understitching and raw edges

Postby Inti » April 19th, 2017, 4:43 am

I'm new to sewing and was wondering if someone could help me out. Do you need to finish the raw edges when understitching a neckline? From looking at several Youtube clips and internet tutorials I haven't seen anyone doing this. I'm assuming that this is because the raw edges end up on the inside of two pieces of fabric and therefore less likely to fray in the wash. Is this right?

You are right, the pieces are inclosed and will not fray.
