Kwik Pajama pants pattern #3602

Postby sewsilverlake » November 10th, 2009, 6:59 pm

Hi all
I'm a newbie at sewing.
Luckily, I received a sewing machine as a gift for my birthday, used Bernina 1080-I love love this machine.
I have been sewing whenever i can & I really enjoying sewing. Put me in the ZEN mood.
Also i have been taking some sewing classes at local sewing studio.
I recently took a pajama pants class & we were working with KWIK pattern #3602, long pants.
http://www.kwiksew.com/Verity_Search.cfm
After my classes is over, i got home & tried the pants that i made, i realized that my butt area seems super weird-hanging way too low.
Looks like i'm wearing a diaper.

My questions to you, how do i adjust the butt area from the pattern to look like lil more fitting to my butt.
i understand that Pj pants aren't meant to be tight fitting however if i followed the pattern, butt area comes out very unattractive.
I guess i'm trying to say if i could make is more low rise VS high rise with dumpy butt
Please help.

Many thanks
XOXOXO
JC

How did we miss this post? I don't remember seeing it before..............so sorry.
I don't think you can 'fix' this pair. But I'm sure someone will be here soon with the solution to fixing the next ones you make.
I'm in Fontana, and do go to LA from time to time. Nice to see someone else from Southern Califonria.
Welcome to the board.

I missed this post to, really sorry, I'm like Karen I don't think you can fix this pair unless you wanted to rip out the waistband. Panjamas run big so if there big all over make a smaller size, if it's just the "butt" I would think that you could make a bigger seam in the back and possibly the side seams. As far as low rise waist if it's an elastic waistband you can fold the waistband as far down as you want. 1 thing about the seams if you do make them bigger that called for be sure to trim the seams to reduce the bulk. I'm sure someone else will have better ideas, you might want to repost on the general sewing forum and I know you 'd get plenty of responses there. Good luck and keep trying it takes practice and ripping. :rotflo: Also :welcome: to the forum.
