Re: ENCHANTED BY WINTER- a new challenge

I haven't posted in a while, and this may be a stretch. But....... Jerry is to blame cause she saw your shirt, Nonie, and immediately thought of Ole Miss. And also, basketball is a winter sport. The dress pattern you'll probably recognize as CC Callie, and the pants are Britches and Bloomers. I used...

Re: CC Callie

Linda,
That is sooo cute. Thanks for posting. I agree that this pattern is worth the extra price. I've not purchased many CC patterns, but I did this one, and have been glad that I did. I especially like it on toddlers since I think they are too short for something gathered to a yoke.

Re: New favorite

I'm still thanking Nonie for introducing this nice pattern. I've made it twice, so far, for DGD, and reallly like it. I've made a couple of changes: I lined the top and added a ruffle.

Re: Any opinions on Monogram Wizard Plus?

Nonie, It's difficult to give an answer to your question because it depends on which font you are using. As you add the letters, the size of the design will show in one of the boxes--also the number of stitches. If you will tell me exactly what you are trying, I'll open my software tomorrow and help...

Re: Any opinions on Monogram Wizard Plus?

I've had MW+ for 3 years, and use it exclusively for monograms and text in my stitchouts. It is a versital, reliable program. However..... I don't think it is user friendly. In some ways it reminds me of a DOS program, so it was an adjustment for me to learn it. But I'm not the most computer savvey ...

Re: if you had to recommend a serger

After much reading and questioning and having the Elna, Babylock Imagine, Bernina and Janome demonstrated, I bought a Juki 734 from an out of town dealer. I am a newbie to serging, so I'm still learning how to use my machine, but it is a dandy. Makes the prettiest rolled hems. The biggest factor in ...

Re: Wanted Serger/Overlock and Coverstitch Machines

There is a Yahoo group--Sew Its for Sale that you many want to check out. I've never bought from anyone except an on-line dealer; Kens Sewing Center in Muscle Shoals, AL. You might want to give them a call--ask for Kevin.

Re: over lock stitch

Lainey, I recently posted the same thing on the serging board. This method is wonderful for woven cotton fabrics as well. The last Callie I made, I used this technique on pique, and the results were the best French seam I've ever completed: small, uniform, and tidy. This technique makes your serger ...

Re: sewing machine problem.

One more suggestion: when you take it in for service, take along a stitch-out showing the problem. I like to talk to the repair person, also, about problems I see.
