Christmas Tree Skirt Panel

Hello
Are all Christmas tree skirts made to go all around the tree stand? I have half a tree skirt panel, added bias tape to it , leaving enough tape to tied it around the tree stand. Someone has said to me that I have only half of the panel. Has anyone just use half a panel? Thank you B.

I have seen tote bags with the bottom of the bag one colour, then the middle part and then the top the band part of the same colour as the bottom , the straps were sewn down on each side of the front of the bag. The straps were the length of the bag.

Sewing seam

Hello
When you are sewing the rows together in a rag quilt which way do the sewn seams of the blocks go? Do you lay them flat (like pressing a seam open) or stitch the sewn seam folded together? Thank you B.
