Re: Christmas quilt started

I hope it will be pretty but boyish. Have a long way to go.
Linda, part of the fabric is from stash and part not from stash. Trying to stay as close to a budget as I can.

Re: Freemotion - Looping Thread

From what I have been able to learn about free motion is--practice, practice, practice. The loops form below because you are moving the fabric to fast, it calls for fast speed, slow hands. this is something I was to learn :D

Re: Christmas quilt started

This will be big! 74x83, so it will go off to the long arm person. Janel will help me Monday get a bit more done on it, so look for more pictures.

One in and one out!!

:( :( . Finally, my hands are working and I can get back to smocking. I was pretty happy with row one until I started row two and now it all has to come out :sob: I am still pretty happy just being able to smock again, so this is really just a tiny set back :D .

Re: The Domestic Sewing Machine for the right handed user

Linda, I had to learn to manage the wheel when learning to sew. I learned on a treadle, so there was a lot more to it then the seams :rotflo:

Re: I need ideas...

Pinterest, is full of ideas. You might have to add some fabric to your quilt but I am sure you can use what you have for a quilt.

Re: Freemotion - Looping Thread

As strange as it seems, usually the bottom thread messing up is being caused by the top thread. Have you dropped your feed dogs? I will search for an answer.

Re: The Domestic Sewing Machine for the right handed user

This seems like it would work better for a left hand person. I have no problem sewing on my machine.
Would love to know what others think.

Re: Topic is organizing--

Angela, great pictures, great ideas. I still have three drawers left to get organized, that are right by the sewing center. Then about four little drawers in the cutting area, ugh, just not very good at doing that. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for zippers. Anyone have zipper ideas...

Re: Topic is organizing--

Wow, so many great ideas. I have three more little drawers to do. This is the drawer right next to my sewing-machine.
