Re: Kathy D--question about button elastic for boys pants

Not Kathy, but I can tell you what I've seen in RTW. There is a buttonhole on the inside of the waist casing that has a small button sewn beside it on each side just at the side seam area. The elastic is run through the back waist area and comes out the buttonholes at each side seam. The buttonhole ...

Re: Simplicity 1722 All comments and suggetions welcome

Luzenia, I know you have a great plan already, but did you know that Laurie Anderson has a pattern for hospital gowns on her site, Southern Stitches? It is a maternity gown for expectant moms going to delivery, but I would think you could adjust for that. Just a thought that maybe you could view her...

Re: My next project will be----

What a FABULOUS idea, Nonie! You know, you could still do towels. You would just need to mark with long lines the center points. Then you could rehoop, repositioning the towel to add either the monogram or the anchor.

Re: The new old bath

Bunny, as I told you on FB, your hard work certainly paid off. This is an amazing transformation. Your designer eye is so evident in the subtleties of this new décor. I thought the backsplash tiles were new to the reno! How perfectly they tie everything together. Those knobs are totally amazing. Thi...

Re: Darn butonholes

Nonie, this makes me really sad for you. :( My Janome machines make such beautiful buttonholes. When I mess up a buttonhole, it's usually because I forgot to pull the lever down for the foot to stop on the automatic setting. In other words, it's ME instead of the machine. I would be pouting big time...

Re: NEED HELP ORGANIZING

I want to follow this discussion. I sew in a bedroom. I have a corner of that room where my sewing tables are set up. My closet has about 8-10 running feet of shelving that is divided into cubes and that is where my fabric and laces are stored. My laces are in the plastic shoe bins, but I sort of wi...

Re: The bubble challenge

Yes, Angela, I also use the long pronged size 16 Snap Source snaps. When I mess one up, it's hard to get it removed so I can do it again! I used the sew on snap tape for the bubbles I did for Easter; but my problem with the sew in tape variety is being able to maneuver it under any presser foot I ow...

Re: The bubble challenge

Ok, girls! The bubbles are soaking! They are DONE!! woo-hoo!!!! Angela, what a DARLING bubble! I love large prints with smocking. I would never have even considered it unless my daughter had bought lots of huge splashy prints for smocked things for MK when she was a toddler!! It is a little out of t...

Re: The bubble challenge

Well, Nonie, and Karen, I had every intention of BEATING you both today.....then I had my challenge. :thud: On the boy Taylor with the whipstitch piping around the leg openings, and the way I sew my casing right next to the piping, the area where I run the elastic is pretty snug. I got the girl elas...
