Re: Christmas quilt started

I love those colors together! I think that pattern would work for my little lap quilt for my niece. How will you quilt it?

Re: Zipper storage idea

Same here Karen. I have so many that I don't use but am afraid to get rid of. I really need to purge some. If you have a door, you could use a towel bar or drapery rod and get the drapery rings with clips to accomplish the same thing. Kind of like this but not the hooks. I would knock these hooks of...

Re: Freemotion - Looping Thread

The first thing I do is remove all the thread both bobbin and top and rethread everything. Make sure there is no lint or extra tiny threads in the bobbin case. My bobbin tension on my old machine was on the bobbin case. But I was warned not to mess with the bobbin tension because like Nonie said it ...

Re: Topic is organizing--

I saw one that I liked where they used clips to hold the zippers and hang them from horizontal rods (think towel bar). I thought about doing that but I think they would stay dusty in my room. :rotflo: I love my tea tins for buttons and small things, and they were free!

Re: The Domestic Sewing Machine for the right handed user

I use my right hand to turn the wheel. I would not like using my left hand for that. I use both hands to get to the bobbin and both to thread the needle. Plus I use my stiletto with my right hand when feeding finicky fabrics through. No way I could do that with a right hand machine.

Re: Topic is organizing--

Great use of your boxes Nonie. I missed those pictures. :)

My problem now is zippers. I have a ton and just have them thrown in a drawer and I have to dig through all of them to find what I want. :rotflo:

Re: Topic is organizing--

Here are a few pictures of my drawers. The two orange wire organizers came from TJ maxx. I think they were $5 each. The black one was an old office drawer organizer I already had. The green one is part of a package I got from Sam's for $20. I wound up with 25 I believe. The first is for all my marki...

Re: Microwavable Hot Pad Bowls

Sorry Nonie and Karen, I'm just getting back here and saw this. I used cotton lining (usually quilting cotton for both focus and lining) and warm and natural batting; although, I have used the pellon cotton batting. I have used the 80/20 cotton in my own bowls and have had no issues with them in the...
