slipcover for wing back settee

They are finished and the second one turned out better as I expected. :rotflo: The hardest part is making these oversized in case there is shrinkage. No one wants to wash the fabric first and they certainly don't want to pay me to wash it. So the only thing to do is to allow for extra fabric between...

Re: Velvet pole swag valance

Thank you ladies for all the sweet comments. Linda, they are all in one piece. No seams on the tabs. Karen, it is Mccall's pattern 5872. Very easy pattern too. It's a 3 piece pattern; swag, jabot and center trumpet. The tabs are built into the pattern. I did have to modify this one a little to get t...

Re: How do I hem jeans while saving the orginal hem?

I did this with two pair of jeans for a customer. I used the same basic steps as the tute Karen posted. I used my narrow zipper foot to get as close under that hem as possible and used an awl to keep that fold out of my way. A wooden skewer would work too. My narrow zipper foot allowed that little f...

Re: Anyone know what his is?

I'm curious too. I wonder if it attached to something else. That piece on the front has me wondering that. It looks like one of our excavator buckets (but they are metal).

Velvet pole swag valance

I had some Velvet left over from the tab top panels and hated to see it go to waste. So we decided to do a swag for the adjoining bathroom and I'll use the rest for pillows. I'm really happy with this one considering I was so afraid the velvet would be dominant and pull the lining to the front. But ...

Re: Help!! need pintuck help

Nonie, I'll try mine when I get home today and see if I can help that way. I don't think I've tried my twin needle on this machine. You shouldn't have to adjust any tension.

Re: Need yardage amount--possibly a Angela question

Sorry I'm just seeing this Nonie. I wound up with way too many strips and have enough to make another full lap quilt!

Re: Help!! need pintuck help

You also have to go into the settings and set the needle for twin needle. Just be sure when you come up that first "wrap" that you put one thread to the right and one to the left before you go down and around the second wrap. Let me know if it works.

Re: Help!! need pintuck help

Nonie on our machines when you come up and around to thread, you have to put the right thread to the right and the left thread to the left. If they are going down the same slot, it will tangle. I haven't tried it yet, but that's what they told me when I bought my machine.
